New Umbrella Series

After the renovation of The Public Theater and Joe’s Pub in 2011, DanceNOW will expand its showcase, holiday and featured-artist programming to include a new series to present ‘special projects’ under the Dancemopolitan brand. The intimacy of the pub has been a stimulus to encourage artists to move outside their comfort zones, and has established Dancemopolitan as a vital force in the creative development of contemporary dance. DanceNOW's new umbrella series has been embraced by Joe’s Pub as a means to expand dance programming at Joe’s Pub, and will provide a new creative opportunity for artists to craft work specific to this fantastic venue. DanceNOW seeks proposals for a new holiday series, musically thematic projects as well as ‘special’ projects that you would like to develop or restage for the pub. Please note that all work must be 55 minutes or less and require minimal production needs. For consideration for the Umbrella Series, please submit a letter of intent to info@dancenownyc.org.
